Wrexham are reportedly interested in signing a Liverpool player following the Premier League champions’ agreement on a £40 million transfer.
Backed by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham are gearing up for their first season in the Championship after achieving three consecutive promotions.
So far this summer, the Red Dragons have signed forward Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle and remain linked to several other potential signings.
Recently, reports have emerged that Wrexham have set their sights on Liverpool full-back Owen Beck for a season-long loan. The 22-year-old impressed during his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last season and is expected to be loaned out again to gain further experience.
In 2024, then-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp commented on Beck’s career, noting some challenging loan spells at Famalicao and Bolton but expressing overall positivity about his potential.
Beck’s move to Wrexham is believed to be connected to Liverpool’s pending £40 million signing of Bournemouth’s left-back Milos Kerkez, who is seen as a likely replacement for Andy Robertson. Robertson has been linked with a possible transfer to La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
Kerkez, 21, had a breakthrough season in the Premier League, featuring in all 38 games, scoring six goals, and providing two assists. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Kerkez is scheduled to fly into the UK for a medical and is expected to sign a five-year contract with Liverpool.
This summer has already been busy for Liverpool, who have secured deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, while also being linked to players like Marc Guehi, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak.
