There isn’t an early Premier League match today because TNT Sports, which holds the rights to the 12:30pm Saturday games, didn’t choose a fixture for that slot. This is often due to scheduling issues, such as teams needing more rest after playing in European competitions during the week.
TNT Sports is allowed to broadcast 52 Premier League matches per season, including early Saturday games and midweek fixtures. However, they don’t have to fill every available time slot, which is why some weekends don’t feature an early kick-off.
Also, due to the UK’s traditional 3pm Saturday blackout rule, games played at that time aren’t shown live on TV to help protect attendance and support for lower league clubs.
So, the first live Premier League match today will be shown later in the day.
