Leicester City’s troubles continued as at the weekend as they lost for the fourth game in a row.

Manchester City beat Leicester 2-0 on Sunday to leave the Foxes heading into 2025 in the relegation zone.
Despite this, it was one of the Foxes’ best performances of the season as Leicester managed to complete an incredible feat against Man City by recording over 500 passes at the King Power Stadium.

Several Leicester stars impressed in the game and Ruud van Nistelrooy admitted he was ‘hurt’ about the defeat to City.

Pep Guardiola admitted that Leicester were the better side and one of those who impressed during the game was Jannik Vestergaard, who was spotted engaging with the fans during the game.

Van Nistelrooy appeared to adopt a possession-based style of play for the defeat on Sunday and at times, the Foxes rode their luck.

In the first half Vestergaard slighlty underhit a pass to Harry Winks, which drew groans from the home fans inside the stadium.

Winks was thankfully able to reach the ball and send it wide to James Justin, but it was the Danish defender’s reaction after his teammate had cleared his lines that caught the eye of most.

Vestergaard turned round to gesture at the stands to calm down before pointing at the pitch as if to encourage the supporters to trust him and those out on the pitch.

After the full time whistle went, Winks was spotted chatting to Guardiola and was joined by Vestergaard on the centre circle.

All three seemed in high spirits and although details of the chat between the trio are yet to be released, it seemed as if the Man City boss was giving them a snippet of tactical knowledge.

Since Van Nistelrooy’s appointment Vestergaard has returned to the squad after being banished by Steve Cooper following a disagreement between the two during training.

He’s been partnered by Conor Coady, who has also returned to the first-team fold.
