Liverpool shook not just the northeast but the whole nation with a dramatic last-minute winner against Newcastle at St. James’ Park last night.
Arne Slot’s men had surrendered a 2-0 lead and were tied at 2-2 when 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha netted a 100th-minute goal to secure all three points for the Reds.
The youngster had only just come off the bench when he was set up by Mo Salah, sparking wild celebrations among the 3,000 travelling Liverpool fans.
As Ngumoha and his teammates celebrated in the corner, Virgil van Dijk made sure to stall the restart by keeping the ball away from the center circle.
When Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope kicked the ball upfield to resume play, Van Dijk made a beeline for it and knocked it into the stands behind the goal, where the home supporters were seated.
His antics definitely gave us a good laugh!
