The striker had a frustrating night against Unai Emery’s side, missing a clear opportunity to score in the 2-2 draw. Arne Slot later admitted that the 25-year-old was feeling “quite down” as he left the pitch alone after the final whistle.
Although Nunez didn’t get a chance to redeem himself at the Etihad, remaining an unused substitute, his mood after the match was a stark contrast to Wednesday’s disappointment.

As he approached the traveling Liverpool supporters after the win in Manchester, fans chanted his name in appreciation.
In response, he tapped the club crest on his jacket, gave a triumphant thumbs-up, and pumped his fist, soaking in the Reds’ 2-0 victory—one that extended their lead at the top of the table to 11 points and had supporters singing about the Premier League title returning to Anfield.
