Tottenham Reach Decision on Thomas Frank’s Future Following Internal Discussions

According to Sky Sports News, Thomas Frank still has several key backers on Tottenham’s board, which is why no final decision has yet been taken on his future. The Danish coach is expected to remain in charge for Spurs’ Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

The north London club have not yet reached a conclusion on Frank’s position, despite mounting pressure following Saturday’s 2–1 home defeat to West Ham. Tottenham’s hierarchy are understood to be weighing up alternative options after holding internal discussions about his long-term future, but Frank is set to continue his duties as normal for the upcoming fixture.

Frank has managed just one victory in his last eight matches in charge, including three consecutive defeats heading into the Dortmund game. Overall, Spurs have recorded seven wins from 22 matches and currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of the top five and 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

His Premier League points-per-game average stands at 1.23, the lowest of Tottenham’s last eight managers, including Ange Postecoglou, who averaged 1.52 before being dismissed at the end of last season.

In the Champions League, Spurs have collected 11 points from their opening six matches, with their only loss coming in a 5–3 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in November. Frank signed a three-year contract when he was appointed in June, following a seven-year spell in charge of Brentford.

However, concerns have also emerged from within the squad. Journalist David Ornstein reports that several Tottenham players have become unhappy with Frank’s leadership, with many believing he is not the right fit for the role after a difficult first seven months in charge.

Supporters voiced their frustration after the defeat to West Ham, booing the team off the pitch and directing chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” at Frank following Callum Wilson’s stoppage-time winner. After the Dortmund match on Tuesday, Spurs are scheduled to face 18th-placed Burnley in the league on Saturday.
