A leaked fines list from 2019—when Zinedine Zidane was head coach—surfaced via MARCA, citing details obtained by Deportes Cuatro. According to the report, players could face fines ranging from €250 to €3,000 for various infractions.
Tardiness is penalized heavily, with a five-minute delay to training resulting in a €250 fine, increasing to €500 for 15 minutes, and exceeding €1,000 for longer delays. An unexplained absence from training could cost up to €3,000.
Players are also fined for improper mobile phone use, including during physio sessions or on the team coach, with penalties ranging from €250 to €1,000. Missing weekly weigh-ins carries similar fines.
One of the more unusual rules requires players to obtain club approval before leaving Madrid. They must also seek permission for commercial or media engagements, conduct press conferences in club attire, and refrain from having visitors in their hotel rooms during team stays.
