Swedish broadcasting experts are now confident that Isak will sign with Liverpool, supporting the agreement speculation.

Experts at Viaplay agreed that Alexander Isak is likely to become a Liverpool player before the summer transfer window closes. The Swedish international remains Liverpool’s primary target ahead of the September 1 deadline.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are actively searching for a replacement for the former Real Sociedad striker before the deadline. The Magpies are in discussions with Wolves about signing Jørgen Strand Larsen, but it seems unlikely they will manage to replace Isak with either Nicolas Jackson or Yoane Wissa in the short term.

Interestingly, Manchester United legends Peter Schmeichel and Jaap Stam both believe Isak is set to move to Liverpool this summer. During their analysis of the Liverpool vs Newcastle match on Viaplay, the pundits speculated whether an unofficial agreement between the clubs might already exist.

Newcastle reportedly hopes to receive up to £150 million for their star player, but Liverpool are prepared to pay a British transfer record fee below that figure. The Merseyside club’s initial offer of £110 million was rejected by the Saudi-owned club.

Local journalists in the northeast are increasingly convinced a deal will happen this summer, especially if Newcastle manage to secure a suitable replacement. Having missed out on targets like Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Pedro, Liverpool fans have little faith in Newcastle’s recruitment, but it’s clear that keeping an unhappy Isak at St James’ Park is not ideal for the club.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has hinted that selling Isak would be the best outcome for his team this summer. However, it remains uncertain if Newcastle will compromise on the sale if they fail to sign players such as Jackson or Strand Larsen.
