Surprise club ‘prepared to submit £99m bid for Dominik Szoboszlai,’ posing a major dilemma for Arne Slot.

Liverpool may have to persuade Dominik Szoboszlai to remain at the club this summer, as an unexpected suitor is reportedly preparing a move for the midfielder.

Arne Slot has made an outstanding impact since taking over from Jurgen Klopp, guiding Liverpool to their second consecutive Carabao Cup final, leading the Premier League by 13 points, and topping their Champions League group.

A key factor in Slot’s success has been his ability to further develop existing players, but he may now face a challenge in retaining one of his top performers.

Szoboszlai has hit peak form in recent weeks, delivering standout performances in Liverpool’s 2-0 victories over Manchester City and Newcastle United, earning Man of the Match honors in both games.

However, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool aren’t the only ones taking notice. Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are reportedly preparing a massive summer bid worth up to €120m (£100m) to lure the Hungarian international away from Anfield.

Al Hilal, based in Riyadh, has been aggressively targeting top talent from Europe’s elite clubs, and Szoboszlai has now emerged as their latest target. The report also suggests that several other major European clubs are considering making a move for the 24-year-old.

Szoboszlai initially struggled to cement a place in Slot’s starting lineup, but he has since become a crucial figure, starting Liverpool’s last nine Premier League matches in a row.

Following Liverpool’s win over Newcastle, Slot praised Szoboszlai’s contributions, saying:

“I’m very pleased for him because he’s the type of player who always looks for a teammate in a better position if he has the chance.

“He deserves the recognition he’s getting now. I’ve always valued his performances, but maybe now others are starting to appreciate not just his work rate but also his goals and assists.”
