As it turned out, new footage from Liverpool’s official media captured Neville slipping out quickly from the gantry just as celebrations erupted—while LFCTV commentator Steve Hunter and club legend John Aldridge were seen celebrating enthusiastically.
As Liverpool players danced and fans roared, Neville made a hasty retreat, clearly not keen to stay for the festivities. On the pitch, each player was serenaded by supporters, and new manager Arne Slot addressed the crowd briefly, offering thanks to Jurgen Klopp—just as Klopp had once done for him.
After the match, defender Ibrahima Konaté shared an emotional moment. “I sat in the stands to feel like a fan… I nearly cried,” he said. “It’s unbelievable—we have to enjoy it.”
Although four matches remain, the title is already secured. Liverpool could finish with 94 points, a figure only surpassed five times, including twice under Klopp’s leadership.
