Slot eyes next major signing: Liverpool line up bold move for ‘world-class’ talent as replacement for 18-goal star.

Liverpool continue to be linked with a potential transfer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

As reported by Fichajes, the Reds are plotting another high-profile signing following their record-breaking acquisition of Florian Wirtz. Isak is now seen as one of Arne Slot’s key transfer targets.

Alan Shearer has described the Swedish forward as a “world-class” talent.

A Striker Is a Priority for Liverpool
The Premier League champions are reportedly readying a bid in the region of €120 million to secure Isak’s services. The 23-goal forward also contributed six assists last season, showcasing his all-around attacking prowess. His versatility allows him to play both as a central striker and out wide, offering creativity and unpredictability in the final third.

Isak is widely regarded as one of the top performers in the Premier League and could significantly enhance Liverpool’s attacking threat. He’s viewed as a potential upgrade over Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota, both of whom struggled for consistency over the past year.

Isak a Replacement for Gakpo?
Cody Gakpo has been linked with a possible departure from Anfield, and Isak is being considered as a possible replacement. Gakpo netted 18 goals last season and has played a crucial role at the club.

How this transfer saga unfolds remains to be seen. Newcastle, backed by immense financial resources, are not under any pressure to sell and are working to build a competitive squad. However, if Isak expresses a desire to leave, the club might find it difficult to keep hold of him.

There are also suggestions that Newcastle may try to extend his contract. Should Isak decline a renewal, the club may have to seriously evaluate transfer options before the summer window closes.
