This week marked the opening leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. On Tuesday, Arsenal welcomed Real Madrid to their home ground.
The match concluded with a dominant 3-0 win for Arsenal. Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos shared his thoughts on the Galacticos’ loss.
“Arsenal beat Real? A draw in the first leg would’ve been too predictable for Madrid. They actually needed to lose so they could mount a comeback in the return leg,” Kroos told DefensaCentral.
The second leg is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Toni Kroos remarked, “Usually, when Madrid concedes, we believe we can still score — but in this game, they were scared of a fourth.”
Kroos has now rejoined the Real Madrid squad ahead of the decisive match against Arsenal.
