Six Liverpool players are in danger of missing out on a Premier League winner’s medal, including one who will not play again this season.

Posted on February 27, 2025 By Dailynewsupdate No Comments on Six Liverpool players are in danger of missing out on a Premier League winner’s medal, including one who will not play again this season.

Federico Chiesa is at risk of missing out on an automatic Premier League winner’s medal, along with several of his Liverpool teammates, including Tyler Morton and James McConnell.

Liverpool took another step toward securing the Premier League title on Wednesday with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Newcastle, courtesy of goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

With 10 games left in the 2024/25 season, Arne Slot’s side holds a commanding 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal.

Most of Liverpool’s squad have already secured their eligibility for a Premier League winner’s medal by making at least five league appearances. However, a few players, including Chiesa, remain at risk of missing out.

The Italian winger, who joined from Juventus in the summer for a reported £12.5 million, has featured in just three league matches this season—against Bournemouth, Brentford, and Ipswich—leaving him two appearances short of qualification.

Other players unlikely to receive a medal include reserve goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros, who made his only league appearance in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in October.

Meanwhile, Tyler Morton, Trey Nyoni, and James McConnell have yet to make a league appearance, despite impressing in cup competitions. Jayden Danns, currently on loan at Sunderland, is also ineligible, as he is four appearances short of the required five. However, the 19-year-old forward could still be awarded a medal at the club’s discretion.

According to the Premier League’s regulations, the champions receive 40 silver medals, each 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) in diameter. These can be distributed among the manager, players, and staff as the club sees fit, provided that every player who has made at least five league appearances gets one.

Additional medals can only be awarded with Premier League Board approval, and only if more than 39 players have met the five-appearance threshold.

Liverpool’s next league fixture is against Southampton on March 8.
