After drawing at Nottingham Forest, they secured a thrilling late victory at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium. Now, as of this writing, they lead Lille at Anfield.
It’s important to note that Bruno Genesio’s Lille is no pushover. The Ligue 1 side has claimed European victories against Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and currently sits third in the French league.

Harvey Elliott, subbed in for an injured Curtis Jones at halftime, put the Reds back in front with a long-range strike that deflected heavily – a “wicked deflection,” as Amazon described it. At this point, who cares about the deflection?
And who was the first to celebrate with Elliott? None other than substitute Federico Chiesa, who continued his lively celebrations from the Brentford match. Remarkably, Chiesa hadn’t even stepped onto the pitch yet!
