Romano stated: “As I’ve mentioned, Darwin Nunez is likely to leave Liverpool this summer. Luis Diaz’s departure is not guaranteed but remains a possibility. Saudi clubs were interested in Diaz back in January, but he chose to stay and focus on the season. Now, those clubs are still pursuing him.

“The interest hasn’t faded, so keep an eye on Diaz. It’s set to be a busy summer for Liverpool, and he will have to decide his next move. Saudi clubs are expected to make another approach, but it’s up to Diaz whether he stays at Liverpool, moves to another European club, or considers the Saudi offer.

“They remain persistent and are waiting for his decision, making this a situation worth monitoring.”

No urgent reason for Diaz to leave Liverpool

If Nunez departs as expected, Liverpool must carefully assess whether they can afford to lose another attacking option unless a suitable replacement is secured. The club has been linked with Alexander Isak, whose arrival could fill the void left by Nunez, but losing Diaz would leave Cody Gakpo as the only natural left-winger.

Diaz has looked sharp since returning from international duty, delivering a stellar performance in the Merseyside derby and scoring off the bench against Fulham. With two years left on his contract and a key role in Slot’s plans, there seems to be no immediate need for him to seek an exit.
