Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been linked with a transfer away from the club throughout the summer.
Isak has made it clear that he wants to join Liverpool, but the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement. Liverpool’s sizable bid for the 25-year-old forward was rejected by Newcastle.
Newcastle insists the player is not for sale, but keeping an unhappy player may not be beneficial. It remains to be seen if a deal can be finalized soon.
The striker has decided he does not want to play for Newcastle again, making it in everyone’s best interest to find a resolution.
According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Isak is expected to complete his dream move to Liverpool eventually.
“He’s been very clear about wanting the transfer.
“The key is whether Liverpool and Newcastle can settle on a fee. If they don’t, Isak could face a difficult situation.
“However, that’s not ideal for anyone involved, so the preferred outcome is for Newcastle to reluctantly sell him and reinvest the money.
“Isak will get his move to Liverpool, which will be the best outcome for all parties.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool need to strengthen their attacking options after the departures of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, and losing Diogo Jota to injury earlier this summer. Adding a quality striker is a top priority.
Isak is arguably the best striker in the league right now and could have a huge impact at Liverpool. This is the perfect moment for him to move to a bigger club where he can compete for major trophies — and Liverpool can offer him that chance.
