Report reveals Liverpool’s bid for 26-year-old star previously targeted by Slot at Feyenoord

Liverpool have reportedly made an offer to sign Bologna defender Sam Beukema.

According to 1000 Cuori Rossoblu, the 26-year-old Dutch defender has already attracted interest from Liverpool, but their initial bid was rejected. Arne Slot, familiar with Beukema from his time at Feyenoord, previously tried to bring him in and could play a role in ongoing interest. Liverpool are eager to secure his services this month and may return with an improved offer.

With Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konaté’s fitness concerns, Liverpool’s pursuit of another central defender is unsurprising. Beukema, who has impressed in Serie A, could strengthen Liverpool’s defense and appears to suit their style of play. His performance against Liverpool in October, when Bologna visited Anfield, highlighted his potential.

The opportunity to join a top club like Liverpool is likely to appeal to Beukema. However, Bologna are reportedly reluctant to let him leave in the middle of the season, preferring to delay any move until the summer transfer window. Whether Liverpool reignite their interest at that time remains to be seen.

At 26, Beukema is at the height of his career and eager to test himself at a higher level. His physicality and quality suggest he could adapt quickly to English football and make an immediate impact at Anfield if a deal materializes.
