Report: Liverpool target eyeing Premier League transfer next year

After a relatively quiet summer transfer window, Liverpool are expected to focus on bolstering their squad next year.

While it’s unclear whether the reinforcements will arrive in January or during the summer, one thing is certain: Arne Slot will be backed by the club to add quality and depth to the team. So far, the Reds’ only addition this summer was Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

Despite minimal spending, Liverpool have surprised fans and competitors with their performances this season. However, one area that may require urgent attention next year is the left-back position.

Andy Robertson’s form has dipped noticeably, suggesting he may be past his prime. To address this, Liverpool have been linked with Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, and they’ve received a significant boost in their pursuit of the Canadian defender.

According to TBR Football, Davies is keen on a move to England in 2025, with Liverpool and Arsenal leading the race for his signature. The player’s representatives have reportedly communicated with Premier League clubs, expressing his readiness to start a new chapter in England.

While Arsenal are serious contenders, Liverpool’s promising project under Slot might give them the edge in convincing Davies to choose Anfield over the Emirates.

The Reds have also been linked with other left-back options, including Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, Wolves’ Rayan Aït-Nouri, and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, as they prepare to strengthen this key position.
