According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool are preparing a last-minute move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo if they fail to secure top target Alexander Isak. The Reds have been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in major signings to give new manager Arne Slot the best chance of retaining the Premier League title.
New arrivals like Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez have reshaped the squad significantly, while key players such as Jarell Quansah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Núñez, and Luis Díaz have exited Anfield.
Despite this flurry of activity, Liverpool’s transfer business isn’t finished. They are still pursuing Newcastle striker Isak, even though the Magpies have insisted he’s not for sale. However, Liverpool remain hopeful, largely due to the player’s reported desire to move.
Rodrygo emerges as backup plan
If a deal for Isak falls through, Liverpool are ready to turn their attention to Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The Brazilian attacker has been linked with a departure from the Spanish giants throughout the summer, as his game time under manager Xabi Alonso has dwindled.

With only days left before the transfer window closes, Isak remains Liverpool’s top priority. The Swedish striker has reportedly made it clear he has no plans to reintegrate at Newcastle and is pushing for a move to Anfield.

While Isak is a dynamic, pacey striker with a proven eye for goal, Rodrygo offers versatility, able to operate on either wing or as a false nine.
