Pedro Porro Under Fire for ‘Bullying’ Teammate Who Tried to Applaud Spurs Fans After 1-2 Defeat to Fulham
Pedro Porro has sparked anger among Tottenham fans following the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, after being seen losing his temper with teammate Lucas Bergvall once the match had ended. The Spanish defender appeared visibly frustrated, shouting at the young midfielder after the final whistle.
Spurs’ evening unraveled almost immediately, conceding twice in the opening six minutes. Kenny Tete’s deflected opener put Fulham ahead inside four minutes, and just moments later Harry Wilson punished a disastrous error from goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Although Thomas Frank’s side pulled one back in the second half through Mohammed Kudus, they couldn’t find an equaliser before referee Stuart Attwell signalled full-time. The loss marked Tottenham’s fourth defeat in six league matches, leaving them sitting 10th in the table.
Porro Confronts Bergvall After 2-1 Defeat
Home fans booed the team at the whistle—and tensions were clearly just as high among the players. Footage from inside the stadium showed Porro shouting at Bergvall as the Swedish youngster circled the pitch to applaud supporters.
Porro, who appeared ready to head straight down the tunnel, seemed unhappy that Bergvall insisted on acknowledging the fans. The Spaniard lingered near the centre-circle, calling out Bergvall’s name before walking towards him—only for Pape Matar Sarr to gently push him back. Porro ultimately didn’t join the players applauding the crowd and instead stormed off the pitch.
This follows a similar incident from recent weeks when Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence ignored Thomas Frank and walked off after a loss to Chelsea.
Asked about the post-match clash, Frank said he hadn’t seen Porro’s reaction but stressed the importance of keeping calm during a difficult spell: “We’re going through a tough moment and the players need to stay composed and work through it.”
Fans React: Porro Takes Heat
While Frank missed the moment, fans online didn’t. Clips of the confrontation quickly spread, with many supporters backing Bergvall and criticising Porro’s behaviour. One fan accused the Spaniard of “bullying” the youngster, while another labelled the situation “unacceptable.”
Some even suggested that Tottenham should consider moving Porro on, calling him overrated and claiming he has an attitude problem.
Others believe the latest clash is another sign that Thomas Frank is losing control of the dressing room—especially following the recent tunnel incidents involving Van de Ven and Spence. One supporter wrote: “Frank is making the dressing room implode,” while another described the squad atmosphere as “TENSE.”
