Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Mathys Tel has reportedly made his stance clear regarding his preferred destination as he approaches a potential exit from Bayern Munich, according to The Independent.
Chelsea fans had encouraged their club to sign the young French striker, especially after reports linked him to a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku moving to Bayern [The Standard]. However, that move is now uncertain, as Tel is said to be reluctant to join Chelsea due to the club’s already crowded striker department.
Instead, the former Rennes forward is reportedly “very open” to joining Arsenal, as the Gunners have a shortage of attacking options, increasing his chances of regular first-team football. With Gabriel Jesus ruled out for the season, Kai Havertz remains Arsenal’s only recognized striker available to Mikel Arteta.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Tel, given the inconsistent performances of Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
