Manuel Ugarte has gone viral after sharing a bold message on social media following Manchester United’s FA Cup victory over Arsenal.
On Sunday, the Red Devils kicked off their FA Cup defense with a hard-fought match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Ruben Amorim’s side delivered a determined performance, holding the Gunners to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes, with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel Magalhaes.
United eventually secured their spot in the next round through a tense penalty shootout, with Kai Havertz missing the decisive kick.
During the game, Ugarte was involved in a controversial moment with Havertz following a penalty conceded by Harry Maguire. The two players clashed, and Havertz went down holding his face, prompting many fans to believe Ugarte was fortunate VAR wasn’t in use, as replays suggested he appeared to “headbutt” the Arsenal player.
After the match, Ugarte took to social media with a defiant message, writing: “When we have the ball, it’s a game, and when we don’t, it’s a fight. Let’s keep it going, always together.”
Manager Ruben Amorim praised his team’s resilience after the win, saying: “Thankfully, the players were there. They fight, and what we talk about before the match is not technical or tactical, but this. We have to compete no matter the situation, and we competed today. I think Arsenal had more chances, but we deserved the win with the way we played and fought.”
United will face Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Their next challenge is a Premier League clash against Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday.
