Liverpool’s ideal starting XI for next season could be unstoppable if they make two more signings, bringing their total summer spending to £500 million.

Liverpool could assemble a truly formidable lineup this summer if they manage to secure just two more top-tier signings.

On May 30, the club kicked off what is expected to be a busy transfer window by announcing the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong, who is set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

This move follows speculation that Liverpool are also targeting a record-breaking deal for Frimpong’s former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, along with Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

Even if Liverpool complete deals for both Wirtz and Kerkez, there is strong belief that new manager Arne Slot will continue to be active in the market, building on a Premier League-winning foundation.

Should Liverpool land two additional high-profile signings, many believe they could stake a claim as the best team in world football.

In addition to Wirtz and Kerkez, the Reds are reportedly in the hunt for a new striker, with names like Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez being mentioned. However, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is widely viewed as their dream target, if a deal can be struck.

Earlier reports suggested that Newcastle would demand over £150 million for the Swedish forward, who scored 23 Premier League goals in 34 games last season. Yet, with Liverpool potentially offloading Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz for a combined £80 million, such a hefty fee may be within reach.

If Diaz does depart, Liverpool are expected to seek a new left-sided winger, and PSG’s Bradley Barcola has emerged as their leading candidate. The 22-year-old, who made 58 appearances across all competitions this season despite limited starts, is seen as one of Europe’s most promising wide players.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool would be prepared to spend £100 million on Barcola if PSG are willing to let him go when the transfer window opens next week.

If Liverpool succeed in pulling off these ambitious moves, their summer spending could approach the £500 million mark—though much of that would be offset by player sales.

Such an overhaul could result in a starting XI that not only dominates the Premier League but also ranks among the most impressive lineups in football history.
