Uncertainty Surrounds Luis Diaz’s Future at Liverpool Amid Barcelona and Bayern Interest
Luis Diaz’s future at Liverpool remains unclear, with the Colombian winger heavily linked with potential moves to both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Interest in Diaz is high this summer, and Barcelona, in particular, are determined to continue their pursuit of the Liverpool star.
Despite the Premier League champions stating they have no plans to sell Diaz during this transfer window, the absence of a new contract agreement leaves room for speculation until the window closes.
Liverpool Eye Kvaratskhelia as Possible Diaz Replacement
Should Diaz leave Anfield, Liverpool have identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a top target, according to Anfield Watch.
The Georgian international has quickly become one of Europe’s standout wingers. After joining PSG from Napoli in January, Kvaratskhelia made an immediate impact, playing a key role in their Champions League triumph and domestic success under manager Luis Enrique.
Interestingly, the winger also played a part in Napoli’s title-winning campaign earlier in the season, making him a key contributor for two major clubs in one year.
Although Liverpool are not actively looking to sell Diaz, a significant offer could prompt them to enter negotiations.
Diaz, known for his versatility, has played both as a winger and a false nine under Arne Slot. Last season, the 28-year-old registered 17 goals and 8 assists across all competitions, highlighting his importance to the squad.
Securing Kvaratskhelia, however, could prove challenging given his recent move to PSG. Liverpool may be overly optimistic in hoping to land the Georgian this summer, but if Diaz departs, they’ll need to act swiftly to find a capable replacement.
Barcelona, who are currently the frontrunners in the race for Diaz, have momentarily paused their pursuit due to the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. Nevertheless, they are expected to ramp up their efforts in the coming weeks.
