Liverpool fans have taken to social media after noticing transfer target Marc Guehi seemingly snub Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner at full-time.
Just a week after defeating Liverpool in the Community Shield, Palace kicked off their Premier League campaign with a strong performance, securing a 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Eagles were unlucky not to take all three points, with Eberechi Eze having a goal controversially ruled out.
Following the match, rumors about Eze’s future began to circulate, particularly after he appeared to bid farewell to the traveling Palace supporters.
Meanwhile, with Liverpool reportedly open to selling Ibrahima Konaté this summer, the reigning Premier League champions are actively searching for reinforcements in central defense. They recently signed Giovanni Leoni from Serie A club Parma in a £26 million deal, but Marc Guehi remains high on their wishlist.
Footage showing Guehi ignoring Glasner’s attempt to shake hands after the Chelsea match has further fueled speculation, with many Liverpool fans interpreting the moment as a hint that the England international is Anfield-bound.
One supporter commented on X: “Welcome to Anfield, Marc Guehi!” Another wrote: “VVD x Guehi partnership incoming,” while a third joked, “We’re turning into the new Madrid.”
However, some Crystal Palace fans defended Guehi, suggesting his reaction might have stemmed from frustration, as his error led to Eze’s disallowed goal.
The moment also drew criticism from Manchester United legend Roy Keane, who felt Glasner made too much of the incident.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: “The player’s just come off a tough match, he’s exhausted, and the manager’s trying to have a chat knowing there’s speculation around him. As a player, that’s the last thing you want — save the conversation for the dressing room.”
