Liverpool fans have noticed something Curtis Jones did in a new video amid the ongoing Alexander Isak transfer saga.
Newcastle striker Isak remains Liverpool’s top target for the rest of the summer after they secured Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt.
However, talks with Newcastle have been tough, with the Magpies rejecting a £110 million offer for Isak earlier this month.
According to Craig Hope from the Daily Mail, Isak is expected to stay with Newcastle after the transfer window closes for now. The club is reportedly working on a plan to sign several acceptable replacements before selling the Swedish forward for the highest possible fee.
It’s also reported that Isak is currently ‘on strike’ and will miss Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa this Saturday.
If Isak does join Liverpool, he would be the latest major signing in a busy summer for the Reds, who have already brought in five senior players and agreed to sign 18-year-old center-back Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
Liverpool is also in negotiations with Crystal Palace for a discounted deal for Marc Guehi, who is in the final year of his contract.
The club has raised funds for Isak by selling Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez for over £100 million combined.
Although Liverpool players haven’t publicly commented on the Isak rumors, fans believe Curtis Jones addressed it in a new video.
In the clip, shared by the Premier League’s official account on Thursday, players show off their signature goal celebrations.
Liverpool fans noticed Jones mimicking Isak’s signature celebration by giving a thumbs-up and gesturing behind him.
One fan commented, “Interesting choice of celebration from Jones there.”
Another wrote, “Curtis Jones knows Isak is coming.”
A third added, “0:48 we see you Curtis.”
And a fourth said, “Curtis Jones our starboy.”
