According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Díaz and his representatives feel let down by Liverpool’s handling of his situation. On social media platform X, Sierra stated that the forward is “upset” and believes the club has gone back on previous promises—an issue that allegedly occurred during earlier contract discussions and is now resurfacing amid transfer speculation.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation. Though Liverpool initially rejected Barcelona’s advances, Díaz’s apparent openness to leaving has cast doubt over his long-term future at Anfield.

This places Arne Slot in a difficult position: either secure Díaz’s commitment with a new deal or risk losing a player crucial to the team’s recent success. Díaz’s versatility in both wide and central attacking roles has been key to the Reds’ achievements.
