Liverpool have outlined the conditions for a surprising January sale of Darwin Nunez and another “hugely frustrated” teammate amid reported interest from Serie A.
Nunez, who arrived at Anfield for an initial £64m fee potentially rising to a club-record £85m, has struggled to make a consistent impact and is enduring a tough third season under new manager Arne Slot.
The Uruguayan striker has registered just four goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season. With Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah all in fine form, reports suggest Liverpool are open to offers for Nunez.
AC Milan are reportedly “preparing a bid” for Nunez, proposing a six-month loan deal with an obligation to buy for £41.5m in the summer. Milan, currently eighth in Serie A, recently appointed Sergio Conceicao as manager following Paulo Fonseca’s dismissal. However, there has been no formal contact between Milan and Liverpool yet.
Liverpool are said to be willing to consider a sale if they can secure a suitable replacement in January. According to transfer expert Rudy Galetti, the Reds are monitoring Alexander Isak and Marcus Thuram as potential targets.

Recent reports claim Slot is “unimpressed with Chiesa’s application and mentality,” and TBR Football adds that the winger’s representatives have approached Liverpool about a possible return to Italy in January.
