Liverpool are reportedly considering a January signing that could bolster Arne Slot’s squad and strengthen their bid for the Premier League title.
Since succeeding Jurgen Klopp in the summer, Slot has delivered outstanding results, leading Liverpool to a six-point advantage over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and securing their position as leaders in the UEFA Champions League.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, reports suggest Liverpool are closely monitoring Fulham’s Antonee Robinson. According to Football Insider, Robinson is a top target for Liverpool, with the club heavily linked to the left-back.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently highlighted Robinson as an ideal fit for Liverpool. Reflecting on his performance at Anfield, Brown said, “After his display, I’d expect Liverpool’s interest to have grown. There’s a shortage of quality left-backs available, and strengthening that position is a priority for them. Finding someone to replace Andy Robertson is challenging, but Robinson has proven himself and is at the peak of his form.”
Brown also compared Robinson to Robertson, noting their similar attacking styles. “Robinson is very effective on the overlap, much like Robertson, who’s been unmatched in recent years. However, Robinson’s recent performances put him among the best. Liverpool see him as the perfect replacement in that role.”
After Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day, Slot emphasized the importance of maintaining focus in every match. “Winning at home against Leicester is crucial, but every game in the Premier League requires significant effort. The league table reflects our progress, but there’s still a long way to go,” he said.
Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
