Liverpool are reportedly preparing a massive offer for a top-tier player whom Arne Slot considers an ideal signing.
The club is having an outstanding season, competing on multiple fronts, including the Premier League and Champions League. Slot has impressed in his managerial role since taking over from Jurgen Klopp, despite not making any major signings.
However, Liverpool are now targeting a world-class addition to elevate their squad. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds are planning to make waves in the transfer market with a record-breaking deal.
The report claims Liverpool are ready to bid around £108 million for Alexander Isak. The Swedish forward, who moved to Newcastle United from Real Sociedad for £63 million, has strengthened his reputation in the Premier League.
After scoring 21 league goals last season, Isak has already netted 17 times in the current campaign. Slot sees the 25-year-old as the ideal fit for his attack, offering both squad depth and new tactical options.
Isak’s performances have sparked widespread transfer speculation, with Arsenal also rumored to be interested.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking before their match against Manchester City, praised Isak’s unique qualities when asked about comparisons to Erling Haaland.
“I love working with Alex and wouldn’t swap him for anyone,” Howe said. “He combines a winger’s dribbling ability with a striker’s instincts. His technical skills, pace, and finishing make him a complete package. He’s very unique, and I’d encourage him to stay that way.”
