Liverpool fans have been buzzing on social media after noticing what the club’s YouTube channel posted following their victory over Newcastle United.
On Monday night, Arne Slot’s team traveled to St. James’ Park for a Premier League clash against Newcastle.
The match carried extra significance due to the ongoing transfer saga involving Newcastle’s star forward Alexander Isak.
In recent weeks, it has been widely reported that the Swedish international wants to move to Liverpool.
However, Newcastle remain firm on not selling despite Isak’s public desire to leave.
On the field, Liverpool squandered a 2-0 lead, but 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha netted a last-minute winner to secure a dramatic 3-2 triumph.
After the game, Liverpool fans were stunned by what the club’s official YouTube channel posted.
Typically, the channel uploads footage of Slot’s post-match press conference, but this time, the thumbnail choice caught fans’ eyes.
The freeze frame selected for the video’s main image showed Slot in a pose compared to Isak’s signature celebration, where the striker runs off raising his thumb.
Fans took to social media, with one saying: “You cannot tell me this wasn’t intentional…”
Another tweeted: “Any frame they chose that.”
A third added: “Slot hitting the Isak cele.”
One fan wrote: “Nah why they doing me like that I am getting reeled back in.”
Another commented: “Nah they’re taking the p***.”
And one more said: “If they do s*** like this and then actually don’t sign him my head will be in another dimension.”
When asked about the Isak situation after the match, Slot chose to focus on his current striker, Hugo Ekitike, who scored again.
He said: “I think the story should be about Hugo Ekitike scoring another goal for us. He has played three games now, scored three goals, and made an impact. This is not the place to talk about anything else.”
Liverpool will be back in Premier League action this weekend, hosting Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
