Liverpool fans are deeply worried following Arne Slot’s update on Federico Chiesa.

Liverpool fans are concerned after hearing manager Arne Slot’s comments about Federico Chiesa, especially following the winger’s impressive performance against Accrington Stanley.

The Italian international, who joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer for £12.5 million, has struggled for game time, making just four appearances so far. After sustaining a muscle injury during his first start for the club in a Carabao Cup match against West Ham, Chiesa missed three months of action.

Since his return, he has been gradually reintegrated, featuring as a substitute in recent matches, including a 45-minute cameo against Southampton in the Carabao Cup. However, some fans were hoping to see him start against Accrington Stanley to build his match fitness.

Instead, Slot selected 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha on the left wing, leaving Chiesa on the bench again. He eventually came on at halftime and made an impact, scoring in Liverpool’s 4-0 victory, much to the delight of the Anfield crowd.

Despite this, Slot’s pre-match remarks about Chiesa have sparked speculation about his future. The manager stated, “It’s not only about Federico and playing time; it’s about others as well. We’ll see in the upcoming weeks and months if he can help us, as it’s going to be even more intense.”

These comments have raised concerns that Chiesa could leave Liverpool as early as January. Fans, however, are urging Slot to give him more opportunities after his strong showing.

One supporter wrote: “Slot needs to trust Chiesa more. He’d thrive with better players around him and can play on either wing, not just as backup for Mo.”

Another added: “Great goal from Chiesa—he deserves more chances to play.”

A third fan tweeted: “Chiesa showed what he’s capable of. Give him more game time!”

Others compared him to teammates, with one stating: “Chiesa contributes more than Nunez and still doesn’t start,” while another said, “Chiesa deserves to play more—he’s proving his worth.”

Liverpool fans will now wait to see if Slot increases Chiesa’s role in the coming matches.
