Arne Slot may be preparing another major £100 million transfer bid as part of his ongoing squad rebuild, just days after securing a deal for Florian Wirtz.
After a relatively quiet debut season in the transfer market under Slot, Liverpool appear ready to invest heavily this summer as the Dutchman aims to reshape his title-winning squad for the upcoming campaign.
The first signing under this overhaul was Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who arrives as a potential successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold. A record-breaking Premier League deal for Wirtz is also expected to be confirmed soon.
However, Slot’s revamp doesn’t end there. The Reds are reportedly eyeing several more high-profile targets, including Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and another £100 million-rated Premier League talent.
According to The Sun, Liverpool are considering reigniting their interest in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, especially with Luis Diaz’s future at the club still uncertain. While PSG’s Bradley Barcola had previously been identified as a top target if Diaz departs, the French club are now believed to want to keep him, prompting Liverpool to turn their focus back to Gordon—a player long linked with a move to Anfield.
The 24-year-old, a product of Everton’s academy, has become a key figure at Newcastle since his £45 million transfer in January 2024, contributing 22 goals and 26 assists in 106 appearances. He remains highly valued by manager Eddie Howe and the club’s hierarchy.
Despite Gordon’s hefty price tag, Liverpool are unlikely to be deterred, especially with the potential departures of Diaz, Darwin Núñez, Federico Chiesa, or Diogo Jota. Should the transfer go through, Newcastle may look to bring in Jack Grealish from Manchester City on loan as a replacement.
