Liverpool are reportedly close to reaching a verbal agreement on personal terms for their fifth signing, as Milos Kerkez undergoes a medical.

Liverpool could be on the verge of wrapping up several defensive signings this week.

The Reds are expected to begin the week by finalizing the details of a £40 million move for Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, which would mark another significant addition to their squad.

This follows earlier transfers for Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Armin Pecsi (Puskas Akademia), and Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen).

New head coach Arne Slot is reportedly still targeting reinforcements at both centre-back and centre-forward.

Kerkez nearing Liverpool move

According to a fresh report by David Ornstein of The Athletic, Kerkez is poised to become Liverpool’s fourth major signing of the summer, as part of a broader reshaping of their full-back options following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free transfer to Real Madrid ahead of the Club World Cup.

Although Andy Robertson’s contract is not close to expiring, the Scotland international is said to be considering a move to Atletico Madrid, which could impact decisions surrounding Kostas Tsimikas. Should Robertson depart, Liverpool may decide to retain Tsimikas rather than sell him.

Marc Guehi a potential addition

With Jarell Quansah departing and Nathaniel Phillips also likely to leave, Liverpool are expected to pursue further additions at centre-back.

One name being linked is Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, 24, with reports from Valentin Furlan and Rudy Galetti suggesting the club is close to agreeing personal terms with the England international.

However, it remains uncertain whether Liverpool will meet Palace’s reported £45 million asking price. As noted by Paul Joyce of The Times, the club’s willingness to proceed will largely depend on how Guehi’s valuation aligns with their transfer strategy—especially with his contract set to expire next summer.
