Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head in the transfer market as they all target the same high-profile Premier League player.
With the summer transfer window closing on September 1, top Premier League clubs are still scrambling to finalize last-minute signings.
Liverpool are reportedly pushing to land their main target, Alexander Isak, while Spurs remain in pursuit of Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, who had previously been linked with Arsenal.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are reassessing their transfer options after appearing to miss out on Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, despite being ready to spend up to £100 million on the Cameroon international.
However, United have now shifted their focus to a new target—Brentford captain Nathan Collins. But they’re not alone, as both Liverpool and Tottenham are also expected to make moves for the Irish defender, according to The Daily Mail.
For Liverpool, adding Collins would strengthen their centre-back options amid speculation that Ibrahima Konaté could depart either this summer or next. The Reds recently brought in young defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma for around £26 million and remain interested in Palace’s Marc Guehi.
United are also looking to bolster their defense after signing winger Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. However, any further deals may depend on potential departures, including Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
At Spurs, new manager Thomas Frank—who joined from Brentford in June—is keen to reunite with Collins as part of his defensive rebuild. The pair worked closely during Frank’s time at Brentford.
That said, Brentford have already offloaded key players like former captain Christian Norgaard and Mbeumo, with striker Yoane Wissa also expected to leave. As a result, the club is under no pressure to sell Collins and would prefer to keep their new skipper for the season, making any transfer unlikely.
