“It will not be the end of the world if we don’t qualify for the Champions League,” he said. “If it doesn’t happen, it means we weren’t good enough and other teams deserved it. After 38 games, the table doesn’t lie. The result is final.”
Despite City’s less-than-ideal position, Guardiola remains optimistic. “It’s in our hands, and we’re going to fight for it,” he added.
Amorim Acknowledges the Pressure at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted he does not expect to be given the same time as Mikel Arteta to build success at Old Trafford.
Speaking after United’s 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in the Europa League round of 16, Amorim reflected on Arteta’s journey at Arsenal since taking over in 2019.
However, the former Sporting Lisbon boss believes the circumstances at United are different, meaning he will have to deliver results much faster.
“I won’t have the time that Arteta had,” Amorim stated. “It’s a different club, so we just need to survive these games.”
While he admires Arteta’s patience-driven approach, Amorim is aware that expectations at United demand immediate success. “The way Arteta handled things is inspiring, but I won’t get that same time,” he concluded.
