Konaté recently made light of the situation when asked about Real Madrid’s reported interest during the international break, joking that French teammate Kylian Mbappé has been calling him non-stop.
“Yes, Kylian Mbappé is calling me every two hours,” Konaté quipped, according to Football Espana.
Whether Liverpool can convince the defender to stay remains to be seen. Konaté is considered one of the club’s top performers, and letting him go would be a significant loss—especially after a summer of major squad changes. With several new signings brought in, Liverpool are now aiming to build stability and retain their core players.
