Man City star Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs as uncertainty looms over his future at the Etihad Stadium.
Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, revealed that “big-money” offers are being prepared to secure De Bruyne’s signature. According to Football Insider, the 33-year-old is increasingly likely to leave City at the end of the 2024-25 season.
De Bruyne’s current contract expires this summer, and with no renewal discussions planned, he is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs starting this month. Saudi Pro League interest in De Bruyne was first reported in June 2024, as clubs in the region aim to make him their next marquee signing.
Brown suggested City may be open to parting ways with De Bruyne due to fitness concerns. He explained that the club had envisioned a reduced role for the midfielder but acknowledged that his availability has been a recurring issue.
“I’m not surprised Man City are open to letting him leave,” Brown said. “They have concerns about his fitness and see him taking on a lesser role. Meanwhile, Saudi clubs are ready to offer significant financial incentives, which could appeal to De Bruyne as he transitions to a less physically demanding league.”
Brown added that such a move could allow De Bruyne to collect a substantial paycheck while winding down his career at the top level, making a summer departure increasingly likely.
