“Just a fluke injury”: Elliott reflects on setback and looks ahead

Harvey Elliott has addressed the injury that disrupted his season, acknowledging that while he is focused on moving forward in 2025, regaining his place at Liverpool will take time.

“It was frustrating, but these things happen in football. It was just an unfortunate, fluke injury. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but it worsened over time.

“Like my previous major injury, it’s behind me now. I just have to look ahead and focus on helping the team.

“I feel good. I completed 90 minutes against Southampton and felt very comfortable. Now, it’s about finding opportunities to play and rebuilding myself,” Elliott shared.

Elliott suffered a fractured foot in September while playing for England’s Under-21 team. Initially expected to miss six weeks, he was sidelined for about three months, returning to action in December.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian interest in Mohamed Salah remains strong and persistent.
