Jamie O’Hara makes bold Tottenham statement regarding Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven

Jamie O’Hara has made a bold claim about the quality of Tottenham defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, but Jason Cundy strongly disagrees.

Last season highlighted how crucial Van de Ven and Romero were to Tottenham, as the team’s performance dropped noticeably when both were sidelined with injuries. Near the end of the campaign, manager Ange Postecoglou chose to field the Argentine and Dutch defender mainly in the Europa League, where their contributions were instrumental in Tottenham winning the trophy.

This season, both players have featured in all four Premier League matches, helping Tottenham concede just one goal so far. Their strong defensive partnership has led O’Hara to make a striking statement about their quality.

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara claimed that Romero and Van de Ven form the best centre-back pairing in world football. He asserted that the duo could start for nearly every top club, including Real Madrid, and suggested that only Virgil van Dijk might be superior.

However, Jason Cundy disagreed firmly, arguing that Lewis Colwill is a better centre-back than Van de Ven.
