Jamie Carragher has faced criticism from fans for not calling out a Liverpool player’s actions during their match against Wolves.

Before Wolves’ goal, Liverpool were awarded a second penalty after Emmanuel Agbadou was deemed to have fouled Diogo Jota. However, after a VAR review, the decision was overturned.
During his commentary on Sky Sports, Carragher defended Jota, suggesting there was slight contact. This stance frustrated many fans, who felt he should have condemned what they saw as a clear dive. Critics accused him of bias, arguing he would have reacted differently had it involved a player from another team.
Social media users expressed their discontent, with one fan accusing Carragher of not even attempting to hide his bias, calling Jota’s fall “the most obvious dive.” Others claimed Carragher tried to justify the incident despite clear replays showing no contact. Some even called for him to be removed from Liverpool match coverage, arguing he struggles to criticize his former club.
Rio Ferdinand also weighed in, questioning why Jota wasn’t booked, sarcastically noting that the dive looked even worse on replays.
