Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is excited to experience the fierce rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield for the first time.
The Argentine international, who joined Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023, has faced United three times, but all those matches were away fixtures. Mac Allister missed last season’s goalless draw at Anfield due to a knee injury and is eager to make an impact in this weekend’s clash.
“I understood the rivalry between the two clubs as soon as I arrived,” Mac Allister shared. “I love playing in these kinds of games. Hopefully, it will be a great one for us. We’re working really hard to deliver a strong performance.”
Mac Allister, who has been in excellent form this season, is confident in Liverpool’s ability to secure a vital victory. “We know it will be a tough game—they have great players,” he said. “But we’re confident in ourselves and will give our best to win.”
Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to feature against Manchester United, with manager Arne Slot reiterating his full commitment to Liverpool.
