“‘He enjoys confrontation’ – Mo Salah’s remarks about Arne Slot say a lot”

Mohamed Salah values the direct approach of Liverpool manager Arne Slot, praising him for his straightforwardness and lack of ego.

Since Slot’s arrival at Liverpool, the team, led by Salah, has been nearly flawless. They currently sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand and have won all six of their Champions League matches.

The 46-year-old manager has managed to get the best out of Salah, despite the ongoing contract saga. Salah is leading the Premier League Golden Boot race with 18 goals in 19 matches and has also contributed 13 assists.

Salah has now expressed his admiration for Slot, noting his no-nonsense attitude and ability to directly communicate with players. He also admitted he was surprised by the new manager’s immediate success after replacing the charismatic Jurgen Klopp.

“Am I surprised [by Slot’s progress]? Yes,” Salah told TNT Sports Mexico. “Before working with him, I didn’t expect this, but now I see how focused he is on the details and the small things. He has no ego, and that’s refreshing. He enjoys confrontation, which is good—though not always. He tells you things straight away, and I think it’s important for players to know exactly what the manager wants. He explains things clearly, black and white. He’s very tactically astute, pays attention to detail, and adapts his approach depending on the opponent. Hopefully, we can continue like this.”

Although Liverpool’s recent home results, including a 2-2 draw with a struggling Manchester United, have been underwhelming, Salah remains confident. He believes Liverpool and their younger players must stay focused to maintain their momentum throughout the season.

“Last season we had the same points at this time, maybe slightly fewer,” Salah continued. “But our younger players have been through similar situations and gained more experience. They just need to stay humble, work hard, and wait until the end of the season. We can’t celebrate too soon, as we saw last year. We need to focus on each game, win them, and keep our eyes on the bigger picture. The Premier League is unpredictable and tricky.”
