Gary Neville has adjusted his pre-season predictions but still doesn’t believe Liverpool will win the Premier League title. Despite Liverpool leading the table with an eight-point advantage as we enter 2025, Neville is sticking with his belief that Arsenal will claim the title.
The Reds, who are in strong form after their 5-0 win over West Ham, are favorites to win the title, having lost only one match so far. However, Neville still doesn’t back them to surpass Arsenal, even though they’ve impressed.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Neville acknowledged Liverpool’s great form but pointed out that there’s still a long way to go. He noted Arsenal’s resilience in recent years and how winning a first title can sometimes come unexpectedly.
Neville also mentioned that injuries could play a role, with Arsenal missing Bukayo Saka for an extended period, but he expressed hope that Mikel Arteta’s side will manage to overcome this. He emphasized that Arsenal remains the only team capable of challenging Liverpool for the title.
Although surprised by Chelsea’s recent losses, Neville never saw them as title contenders this season. He believes Arsenal has the resilience and defensive strength to stay in the race and potentially close the gap on Liverpool toward the end of the season.
