Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus expressed his delight after the team’s 3-1 victory over Brentford, speaking to TNT Sports.
“I think the team performed brilliantly today,” he said. “Coming here and playing the way we did was incredible. The most important thing was securing the three points, and we achieved that. But just as crucial was how we reacted, and we delivered on that as well.”
Reflecting on his work ethic, Jesus added, “I keep putting in the effort, and everyone at the club sees how hard I work every day. It’s not just me; it’s the whole team. I never give up, and it’s not easy playing for a big club like Arsenal. Scoring today makes me very happy, and I want to continue scoring to help the team.”
When asked if Arsenal could still contend for the title, Jesus was confident: “Absolutely. The past two years were fantastic, even though we didn’t win the league. We were right there fighting, and I’m certain we can compete for the title this season.”
After Jesus netted one of the goals in the win, Arsenal now sit just six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
Player ratings for Arsenal in the victory included Jesus scoring an 8 and Raya receiving a 5.5.
