Liverpool appear increasingly unlikely to secure Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s signature this January.
The Reds had reportedly shown some interest in the Georgian international, signaling a willingness to capitalize on any opportunities in the market. However, the left-sided winger has already informed Napoli manager Antonio Conte of his intention to leave the club this month.
A move to Paris Saint-Germain now seems imminent, as both the player and the French club work to finalize terms.
PSG Closing in on Kvaratskhelia
Fabrizio Romano confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening that PSG has reached a “verbal agreement in principle” with Napoli for Kvaratskhelia.
The deal is reportedly valued at £58.7m (€70m) plus add-ons, with full confirmation expected soon. The Georgian winger is set to sign a five-year contract, pending final approval from the club’s ownership.
Kvaratskhelia has been in fine form this season, contributing eight goals and assists across 19 appearances in the 2024/25 campaign.
Liverpool’s Focus Elsewhere
Liverpool, meanwhile, appear well-stocked on the left wing, with Cody Gakpo and Luis Díaz delivering strong performances under new manager Arne Slot. The duo has combined for an impressive 31 goal contributions in 55 games across all competitions.
The club’s attention might instead turn to the right flank, where contract negotiations with Mohamed Salah remain unresolved. With questions looming over the futures of Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool could face significant decisions in the coming months.
Should Salah decide to leave Anfield in the summer, the onus would fall on Federico Chiesa and a returning Ben Doak to shoulder the creative burden on the right. However, the club would need to bring in a high-quality signing to maintain their attacking potency. For now, fans will hope Salah commits his future to Liverpool beyond 2025.
