Myles Lewis-Skelly found the net for Arsenal in Sunday’s clash with Manchester City, just four months after Erling Haaland mocked him on his Premier League debut.
The 18-year-old full-back, who has become a regular starter for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, helped Arsenal put five past Pep Guardiola’s team with a composed finish.
It has been a standout season for the fearless youngster, who first made headlines in September when he received a yellow card before even stepping onto the pitch for his Premier League debut.
That day, after making his long-awaited league bow, Lewis-Skelly found himself in the middle of a heated post-match confrontation. As teammate Gabriel clashed with Erling Haaland following John Stones’ late equalizer, the Norwegian striker turned to the teenager and sneered, “Who the f*** are you?” before continuing his altercation with Jakub Kiwior.
Fast forward four months, and Lewis-Skelly had the perfect response—scoring his first Premier League goal and celebrating by mimicking Haaland’s signature meditation pose. His strike made it 3-1 to Arsenal and cemented a special moment of personal redemption.
In doing so, Lewis-Skelly became the youngest player to score against the reigning Premier League champions since Wayne Rooney netted for Everton against Arsenal in March 2003.
Fans on social media were quick to react:
One wrote, “Haaland was asking ‘who are you?’ last time they played. This time, Lewis-Skelly scores and does his celebration. Absolute shhouse. I love him.”**
Another posted, “Lewis-Skelly pulling this out after what Haaland said to him at the Etihad is the kind of pettiness I live for.”
A third added, “Haaland asked ‘Who the f* are you?’ earlier this season… NOW HE KNOWS. MLS is HIM.”**
Another fan compared the moment to past footballing icons, saying, “This is the birth of a true phenom. Remember Saka and Rashford’s cell celebration vs United? MLS has arrived. Cold-blooded, just like Bukayo.”
A final fan simply called him, “My king.”
