RB Leipzig have no plans to sell Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko before the January transfer window closes, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Despite speculation about Arsenal’s interest in signing Sesko this month, the Bundesliga club are determined to keep the Slovenian striker at least until the end of the season. The Gunners are actively seeking a new forward before Monday’s deadline following Gabriel Jesus’ long-term injury, which has sidelined him for the rest of the campaign after ACL surgery. His absence adds to Arsenal’s growing injury list, which includes Bukayo Saka, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Romano emphasized on his YouTube channel that Leipzig have made it clear—both publicly and privately—that Sesko is not for sale. The club intends to keep the 21-year-old until at least the summer, when Arsenal may revisit their interest.
Sesko was linked with a move to the Emirates last summer before signing a long-term contract with Leipzig until June 2029. He has been a key player this season, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. His 17 goal contributions make him Leipzig’s joint-top performer alongside Lois Openda, with Antonio Nusa ranking third.
With Sesko unlikely to be available, Arsenal have reportedly shifted their focus to Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel. The young French forward is open to a move to the Emirates but is also attracting interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United.
