RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko is unlikely to move during the January transfer window, despite links to Chelsea and Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.
The Slovenian international’s departure is “not a topic” for Leipzig in January, as the club signed him to a new six-year contract before the season began.
However, Sesko is expected to attract interest again next summer, with Romano suggesting that more than five clubs could be involved in potential talks for the 21-year-old. Currently, no discussions are advanced regarding his exit in early 2025.
In the summer, several Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Arsenal, were linked with Sesko, but Leipzig managed to secure him with an improved contract.
Romano shared in his newsletter that while there is significant interest in Sesko, his departure in January is not being discussed:
“There are many clubs interested in Sesko, potentially more than five. But January is not a topic. His case will be revisited in the summer when concrete talks could begin. As of now, nothing is progressing with any club.”
Sesko has been performing well for Leipzig this season, with 11 goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions. He finished 2024 strongly, scoring in each of his last three Bundesliga matches and helping Leipzig recover after a four-match winless streak.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea, Arsenal, or even Manchester United—who were briefly linked with Sesko last summer and are reportedly targeting a new striker in 2025—will pursue him after the season.
