Newcastle set to pursue Yoane Wissa transfer
Fabrizio Romano has shared on X (formerly Twitter) that with Dango Ouattara about to join Brentford, it could pave the way for Wissa to secure his desired move to St James’ Park.
Newcastle are said to be “planning to advance” with a deal for the 28-year-old forward “as soon as possible.”
Whether this transfer will help kickstart progress on Isak’s future remains uncertain.
As previously reported, Wissa could be a strong addition to Newcastle’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
However, Eddie Howe’s side is reportedly aiming for a major signing to facilitate the possible exit of their Swedish striker this summer.
What this means for Alexander Isak and Liverpool
In terms of raw talent and Premier League quality, Wissa ranks among the best.
Liverpool fans might therefore hope this move clears the way for Isak’s dream transfer to Anfield this summer.
That said, reports suggest Newcastle are still looking to add a second forward beyond Wissa.
According to the Chronicle, Wissa might simply be a solid replacement for Callum Wilson, while Newcastle seek another top-class signing to cover Wilson’s possible departure.
